About Sensible Development
We are a Brighton-based web development agency with clients across the UK. We've been established for seven years and we specialise in building robust web applications that can grow with your business. Our sites can help you automate your processes because they're easy to integrate with your back office systems such as accounting and fulfillment systems.
Our team and associates
Sensible development is a team of eight experts in web and mobile phone development, usability, web design and enterprise-level real-time database-driven systems.
Alan Newman is our founder and managing director, and he leads all client engagements. Previously, Alan developed financial trading systems for bank HSBC (under its former name: Republic National Bank of New York). City traders and back-room staff used Alan's systems to price, review and track trades live. He also developed a loans management system for global financier George Soros.
In 2000, Alan followed his passion for the beautiful game when he created a popular online football game for the record-breaking UEFA Euro 2000 site. A year later he set up Sensible Development.
John Montgomery is our lead developer. Previously, John developed software for the web service TimetoTrade.eu, which alerts investment clubs when their shares have reached a certain price.
As lead programmer at games tester Babel Media, John led technical teams to port games to various mobile handsets. He has an Msc from Birmingham University in advanced computer science. Just for fun, John co-founded £5app, a meet-up for programmers to showcase their lightweight software. He programs in Java, PHP, Python and SQL (MySQL).
Alan Henning is our graphic design consultant. As a freelance graphic designer, Alan has designed a myriad of websites for big name clients such as the BBC, UKTV, BT, 02 and the charity British Heart Foundation.
Konstantinos Vaxalis is our games buff and human computer interaction expert. Konstantinos has previously worked for BSkyB developing the Sky Gamestar, he's edited the Greek edition of Playstation 2 magazine. And he teaches human computer interaction and multimedia at Brighton University. We've currently got him working on our fantasy football game.
